About the Event
Thomas Agutu lives in Nairobi, Kenya with his wife Merab and two children. He grew up in Obaga a village in west Kenya. He started a transportation company call Nappet Tour and travel. Through connection he stated working with Serv International taking mission groups through Kenya. Through door-to-door evangelism group from the city, Thomas saw the needs of the rural people were more than just the Gospel. He decided to each adopt a village and try to help. Thomas went "home" to his village of Obaga where his mother, a widow, was already ministering to the needs of the widows in her community. Along with his wife Merab he saw where God was working and joined in. Under his leadership many improvements and cultural changes toward widows have been made in Obaga and the surrounding region. The Jewels (widows) of Obaga own land, have clean water and irrigation water for food in the drought. While the widows were once looked down on in the community now they feel equal. The mission teams offer medical services for those who cannot pay and encourage the villagers in the love of God. Thomas is quick to give all the glory to God.
