Staff & Leadership

After serving as Family Life Pastors in Atlanta, GA, Sam and Eliza moved to Asheville in 2002.  With an early beginning comprised of worship & prayer nights, and weekly discipleship gatherings in their home, God birthed a new church. The Fines are  passionate for Jesus, His purpose and people. They desire to see a generation built together in vibrant family, marked by the presence of God, encounter, transformation; and who, as a result, are agents of His love to the community of Western NC.

Sam and Eliza, who have been married over thirty years, greatly love each other and the adventure of life together.  They have six incredible children (raised four & gained three additional by marriage):  Samuel (& Marissa), Amy,  Elise (& Matthew) and Jeremy (& Grace). They also have  five wonderful GRANDS: Grayson, Charlotte, Uriah, Abel & Elora.

Both Sam and Eliza are avid coffee drinkers, who greatly enjoy dating each other, creating family memories, quality time with friends and game nights. They both enjoy being outdoors, including “walkie-talkies”,  going on hikes and wholeheartedly welcome any opportunity at the beach.  Sam loves to fish, hunt, and Home Depot runs.  Eliza enjoys baking with the GRANDS, reading and has recently discovered a love to run.
