Prison Ministry

Our prison ministry currently does outreaches on a regular basis at the following two facilities: Black Mountain Substance Abuse Treatment Center for Women (BMSATCW) Black Mountain, NC Capacity: 64 residents Residents are there for 90 days to participate and graduate. This women’s rehab facility is operated by the state of North Carolina. We have ministered to the residents there since 2010. Our ministry format there includes singing, preaching and prayer. We are also able to provide free Bibles and other materials to the residents. Henderson County Detention Center (HCDC) Hendersonville, NC Capacity:238 inmates. This jail facility is operated by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. We minister to both men and women in this facility. We have ministered to the residents there since 2014.Our ministry format there includes singing, preaching and prayer. As of our most recent update to this page, post-COVID-19, we are still waiting for our monthly ministry to be reinstated at: Western Correctional Center For Women (WCCW) Black Mountain, NC Capacity: 366 inmates. This women’s prison facility is operated by the state of North Carolina. We have ministered to the residents there since 2008. Our ministry format there has always included singing, preaching and prayer. Inmate Baptisms at Generation Church. Over the many years, we have brought a total of over 400 active WCCW inmates out of the prison to our church to be baptized, usually just a few inmates at a time, once per month. Many of the inmates have told us, “This was the best day of my entire life.” and “I have never felt so loved.”
